TOYS ‘BUGGED’

CHILDREN’S toys are being bugged with spyware by abusive partners, esafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant has warned.

Addressing the National Summit on Women’s Safety, Ms Grant said that technology-facilitated abuse affected 99 per cent of victims in domestic and family violence.

“It may take many forms including sharing or threatening to share intimate images and using tracking devices, voice recorders or cameras – which can be hidden in cars, children’s toys, or even on the undersides of prams,” she said.
