NQ police hit drug operation
NORTH Queensland police have made a significant dent in the region’s illicit drug scene following a series of co-ordinated raids.
Ingham Police confirmed that a total of six search warrants were executed in Hinchinbrook on September 1.
Senior Sergeant Geoff Bormann said six people had been arrested and charged with a total of 25 offences.
Among the charges are four counts of producing dangerous drugs and six counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
In addition to 10 counts of either possessing drug utensils or property suspected of having been used in a drug offence, there are four firearmsrelated charges, including possession of an unregistered firearm.
Ingham Police said that one person had been charged with drug-driving.
“The warrants formed part of ongoing drug enforcement in the area by officers from Ingham Police with support from specialist units from Townsville, including Rapid Action Patrols and the Dog Squad.”
