Essery out to back up big night

RHONDA Essery will attempt to back up her massive Townsville Cup night when consolation final winner Stratford returns to the track at Townsville Showgrounds tonight.

Stratford, who returned to the winner’s circle in the Townsville Cup Consolation, was one of two big winners for the kennel last week.

Essery also took out a onetwo finish in the TGOBTA North Queensland Sprint with Miss Priddle and Samshu.

Stratford will aim to back up his glory tonight in the Gascoigne Lodge FFA over 498m after he drew box two. He will be hard to catch.

Zipping Coby (4) for Robert Lound ran a good race behind Dulceria in the Group 3 WESEAL Townsville Cup final and will appreciate a smaller field. Riding Hood (8) for Justin Reid has drawn well and should run a bold race from there.

Also on the 12-race card is the Louise Partland Photography 3/4th Grade over 380m.

Bye Clown Town (3) for Heath Ardle is in good form and should continue on her winning way.

John Strachin (5) for Andrew Wooler is down in grade and will be a big danger.

Rum And Hustle (2) for Paul Smith has mixed form here but can begin and should lead this field.
