Port breaks export mark

A NORTH Queensland port has recorded its biggest month of exports ever.

More than 448,000 tonnes left the Port of Mackay during August, nearly double the amount in the same month last year, Member for Mackay Julieanne Gilbert said.

“It’s the first time ever that the port’s monthly trade figure started with a 4,” Ms Gilbert said.
