NEW HOME FOR TOYS

-

THEY’VE put a smile on the face of thousands of local children when they’ve needed it most and now this crucial service is looking for a new home.

The Townsville Toy Library has been homed at Townsville Grammar School’s Annandale campus rent-free since the 2019 floods destroyed their former facility.

But as the school continues to grow in numbers, they’ve had to turn the room the organisation uses into a classroom for 2022.

President Catherine Cipollino thanked Grammar for its great assistance over the past three years.

“We really appreciate all of the support they showed for us,” Mrs Cipollino said.

“It’s understandable they need the classroom, so now we are looking for a new home.”

The Townsville Toy Library has been operating for 43 years and is the home to more than 2000 toys.

Mrs Cipollino said they were “happy to move wherever” to ensure they could continue to provide the service. She said they needed a site with parking and a toilet, and preferably a small kitchen.
