BURDEKIN DRIVERS HEADED TO COURT

DRINK-DRIVING and drugdrivin­g continue to be a problem in the Burdekin region, and another two motorists will soon face the magistrate after police caught up with them.

At 12.50pm on Thursday, September 2, police from the Ayr Road Policing Unit intercepte­d a vehicle on Home Hill Rd, Ayr.

The driver, a 41-year-old Burdekin woman, was issued with a notice to appear for driving with a prescribed drug in her saliva and is due to appear in the Ayr Magistrate­s Court on November 15.

In a separate incident, police officers intercepte­d a vehicle at 1.05am on the Bruce Highway in Ayr.

The driver, a 52-year-old Burdekin woman, was issued a notice to appear for drinkdrivi­ng .132.

She is due to appear in the Ayr Magistrate­s Court on September 20.
