Squad’s medal mettle needs recognition
WESTERN Bulldogs wingman Lachie Hunter believes any player who has taken part in a game in a premiership season should share in the spoils with a premiership medallion.
Amid debate about whether the league should change its policy, Hunter said the Dogs’ squad-based mentality had been a huge part of their success in 2021. Josh Bruce played 20 games before tearing his ACL, with the Dogs players Zooming him from the changerooms after their three finals wins so far this month. Hunter said a change in policy would allow all players to be rewarded even if they missed the actual premiership match.
