The new state-of-the-art hospitality and staff building at Calvary Christian College brings together innovation and creativity, which is a perfect combination for an educational facility.

The building is about 950m2 and offers a variety of new staff facilities including meeting rooms, kitchen, workroom and lounge area.

It also provides a new, fully functional commercial-grade student kitchen, including food presentation areas for classwork and bathrooms.

Mr Gabrielli said the high ceilings allowed for the industrial design element of exposing the airconditioning ducts to create a point of difference to the rooms.

“The spaces allow the daylight in, with the inclusion of high set windows and raked ceilings, without creating heat to the working environment,” he said.

“This building brings together innovation and creativity, which is a perfect combination for an educational facility, which set AGC apart in our winning of Educational Facility up to $10 million category.”

Internally, the building features are the trademark bright colour scheme with featured exposed trusses.

The covered outdoor decks ensure that students and staff can make the most of the featured breezeways and dining areas, which offer bright and airy spaces for learning in any weather.

Externally the building features natural timbers and Colorbond products which are perfect for the North Queensland climate, these products are long wearing with low maintenance.
