Skull found at beach

A HUMAN skull was found washed up on a Magnetic Island beach at the weekend.

The “weathered” skull was found by a beachgoer at Bolger Bay, near West Point, about 10am on Sunday.

The skull was found near the shoreline but was quickly moved to higher ground to ensure it wasn’t washed away.

Police were immediately called and they looked into the remains.

A Townsville Police spokeswoman said police were treating the remains as historical and would not be investigating further.
