Low rates push risk
ALMOST a third of Aussies have moved their money out of a savings accounts and into other investments due to record low interest rates.
A survey of 1015 Australians by comparison website Finder found 29 per cent had moved a portion of their savings out of their account.
The research showed the average Australian has $23,394 invested in shares – equivalent to 50 per cent of the amount they have in savings.
The survey found 7 per cent shifted money from savings into micro-investing apps such as Raiz, another 7 per cent used some of their savings to top up their super, and 5 per cent invested in cryptocurrency.
