CRY GOES OUT FOR FLASH MOB HAKA

- TONY RAGGATT

PEOPLE watching this Saturday’s historic 100th rugby Test between the All Blacks and the Springboks have the opportunity to join the biggest Flash Mob Haka in Queensland.

Townsville-based event group Tha Ville Entertainment is co-ordinating the event as part of the activation of the stadium after being approached by organisers.

Tha Ville Entertainment’s Tim Mila said they would stage the mass haka once the final whistle had sounded.

He said everyone would have the opportunity to perform the haka, to lift the energy and spirit in the stadium to another level.

Led by local man Waka Cooper and the city’s Maori community, Mr Mila said the traditional Ka Mate Haka would be performed.

“It doesn’t matter what rugby team you support, what nationality you are, this is for everyone present at the stadium to join as the spirit of unity comes within,” Mr Mila said. “This is our mark of respect for all cultures around the world, while sending off our great teams and making this 100th match the most memorable one.”
