Police Link hotline absolutely useless
I DO not blame the Queensland Police for getting upset over trivial complaints (TB Page 5, 21/9), but what about all the thousands of old vulnerable people who are at the mercy of neighbourhood bullies eg, loud music, road ragers etc?
What about them? They are victims too.
I have been forced on many occasions to ring triple-0 because the number the Queensland Police Service set up for non-urgent calls, Police Link, is absolutely useless.
All that greets you at the other end is an endless line of recorded unhelpful voices and you never get to talk with a live person, so in sheer desperation, I’ve been left to dial triple-0. If Police Link was seriously upgraded, then I wouldn’t have to dial triple-0.
Sorry, but there it is, us super-vulnerable people, like it or not, still need police assistance when the need arises, and we should not have to waste up to half-an-hour for an answer that never comes. DAVID BILTON,
