Meeting to be held late
THE October Townsville City Council meeting will be held a few days late, with most councillors attending the Local Government Association of Queensland Conference.
With the conference held in Mackay this year, as many councillors as possible were encouraged to attend between October 25 and 27.
However, this will mean Townsville City Council will not have a quorum for the October meeting. They voted to delay the council meeting until Friday, October 29, to ensure there are enough councillors present to make decisions.
Anne-maree Greaney will be Acting Mayor while Mayor Jenny Hill is away at the conference.
Meetings are usually held on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
