Killer’s son faces court

THE foster brother of murdered schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer will plead guilty to a stealing charge just weeks after he gave evidence about her death at an inquest, a court has been told.

Trent Jordan Thorburn, the son of child killer Rick Thorburn, did not appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court when his matter was briefly mentioned on Wednesday. His legal aid lawyer asked for an adjournment.

The 24-year-old will return to court on November 3 and his bail was continued.

It comes just weeks after Thorburn gave evidence at a coronial inquest into Tiahleigh’s death in 2015.
