Fruity find puts partygoer in trouble with the law

WHITSUNDAY police made an unusual find in an Airlie Beach drug bust last week.

Officers confiscate­d two Lsd-laced apricots at a September 22 party on Shute Harbour Rd, along with 16 dried mushrooms and half a gram of marijuana, all allegedly found in the possession of a 22-yearold Cairns man.

The man allegedly tried to evade officers who arrested him on three counts of possessing dangerous drugs about 4am. This resulted in a further charge of obstruct police.

Others set to face court on drug possession charges after searches this week include a 31-year-old Cannonvale man allegedly carrying 1.6 grams of cocaine at Boom nightclub on September 17, and a 38-yearold Slade Point woman travelling in a car allegedly containing 2.5 grams of methamphet­amine at Brandy Creek on September 19.

The Slade Point woman was also charged with failing to properly dispose of a syringe, and possessing tainted property in the form of $1300 cash allegedly found in the car.
