POLICE REMEMBER FALLEN
POLICE officers across the country will on Wednesday pay tribute to colleagues who have lost their lives in the line of duty, including the most recent on-duty police death of Queensland officer Senior Constable Dave Masters.
The Annual National Remembrance Day will remember the 148 Queensland police officers who have been named on the National Honour Roll as having lost their lives as a consequence of their duty.
Acting Assistant Commissioner Virginia Nelson said despite some restrictions the event held particular importance this year.
“This year’s service of course has particular resonance for our families and friends, in particular the family of Senior Constable Dave Masters, who passed away in June,” she said.
North Queensland police will hold a memorial at The Strand Rockpool from 5.30pm.
