TRIO PICKED FOR COUNTRY

TOWNSVILLE trio Ethan Ramsbotham, Jarrod Edmondson and Ryan Mccarron have been named in the Queensland Country under-18 cricket side to face off against their metropolitan rivals in Ipswich today.

The three players have been part of a North Queensland Country side which has dominated South Queensland Country in the Ron Bushby Shield in Ipswich this week.

Ramsbotham will captain Queensland Country after he made 92 from 84 balls to guide North Queensland to a sevenwicket win over South Queensland at Limestone Park on Wednesday.

Mccarron has been in the wickets this week taking a four-wicket haul in Tuesday’s one-day win for North Queensland, before backing it up with figures of 2-27 off nine overs on Wednesday.

Edmondson will take the new ball for Country after he continued his stifling start to the Townsville Cricket season on the representative stage.
