No time for slumber in off season
WHILE the main season of hockey wrapped up last weekend with the under-15 state championships being held in Bundaberg (boys) and the Gold Coast (girls), there is still plenty happening at Townsville Hockey in the off season.
The Social Sixes summer hockey competition will kick off on Wednesday, October 6. The competition is six-a-side and played on a quarter field with modified rules.
It is a great opportunity for those who might want to ease back into hockey or for those who might like to give it a go.
Mini Sticks will start up again for term 4 on October 11, with a six-week program being held on Monday afternoons on the turf fields at Townsville Hockey. Mini Sticks is a fun, skill-based beginner hockey program for ages 4-11 years.
Townsville Hockey Association will also be sending teams to the Indoor State Championships that take place around the state between October and December.
There will also be several development training programs held over the next few months locally and with Hockey Queensland.
