COPS BUST MAN SHARING CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A TOWNSVILLE man has been caught with a stash of child exploitation material after federal agencies tipped off local police.
Shaun Bretzke, 41, was arrested on Tuesday night and charged with one count of possessing child exploitation material, and six counts of distributing child exploitation material through a hidden network. Police seized multiple devices and hard drives, and will allege the Idalia man shared the files over an online service which concealed his identity. Further police investigations are underway and officers say further charges are likely to be laid.
Federal agencies alerted the Townsville Child Protection and Investigation Unit to the man’s activities, and they swooped this week.
He was released on police bail and will face court next month.
