Experience Co is raising $55m
ADVENTURE tourism operator Experience Co, known for its large skydiving operations across Australia and New Zealand, is raising up to $55m to acquire a ziplining group as well as other domestic businesses.
With 14 parks across Australia in most states, Trees Adventure, an operator of treetop and aerial ziplines, will be expanded under the new ownership of Experience Co, headed by John O’sullivan, former boss of Tourism Australia.
“This business is very resilient to Covid, the activities are outdoors, and they are not reliant on interstate or international visitors,” Mr O’sullivan said on Thursday.
Founded by Marc Flaster and Nicolas Dansin in 2007, most of Trees Adventure’s clients in NSW, Queensland,
Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia live close to the parks, which charge $20-$30 per person depending on the activity.
“It is a very domestic customer base – 85 per cent of customers live within an hour of the location – so it is not dependent on international and interstate visitors,” Mr O’sullivan said, adding that this attribute was particularly appealing.
