CITY HITS COUNTRY FOR SIX

-

A QUEENSLAND Country side that featured three of Townsville Cricket’s best rising stars was thrashed by their metropolitan rivals in Ipswich on Thursday.

Former Wests cricketer Ethan Ramsbotham, who joined Ipswich in the Brisbane Premier League this season, captained the Queensland Country side.

Wanderers left-arm quick Jared Edmondson (0-25) struggled to gain the upper hand in his opening spell while Ryan Mccarron (0-46) also went wicketless as the city side posted a mammoth 7-228 from their 50 overs.

Ramsbotham laid a strong foundation for the country side, lacing two fours on his way to 26 from 36 balls opening the batting but it was not enough.

Country lost 5-19 in a midorder collapse before being bowled out for 108 with Edmondson (5) the last to fall.
