State not ready for reopening, says Katter

-

KATTER’S Australian Party has called out the Queensland Premier and Health Minister, saying the government is totally unprepared for a Covid-19 outbreak.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said yesterday the state’s health system would be unable to cope with Covid-19, even with 80 per cent of the population vaccinated. She called on the federal government to provide additional funding to state hospitals.

KAP leader Robbie Katter said the Premier, Health Minister Yvette D’ath and Queensland Health had had two years to get prepared for the state to reopen.

“In those two years, the Queensland government has had an ample amount of time to prepare for what’s to come when compared to the rest of the world,” Mr Katter said.

“But today, we have had confirmed what we feared – they are not ready.”
