Centre ban on visitors

PERSONAL visits at Townsville Correctional Centre have been cancelled following a fresh Covid-19 case in the region. Following Queensland Health advice, Queensland Corrective Services state virtual visits are still available, and professional visits are still happening.

The restrictions will be reviewed as soon as Queensland Health indicated it was safe.

In line with stage two restrictions, masks must be worn in the centres in every circumstance where physical distancing is not possible.

Additionally, anyone who has been in the Brisbane and Moreton Bay area since September 19 cannot visit any prison in Queensland.
