Classic family home up for grabs

-

A LARGE family home in North Ward is expected to raise the interest of local and interstate buyers when it goes under the hammer this month.

The property at 54 Paxton St is well positioned close to schools, The Strand, Queens Gardens, Castle Hill, the city and North Ward shopping centre.

RE/MAX Excellence director Marion Grice (pictured) said the low-set building was a classic family home that had been held by the one family since it was built in 1967.

The house sits on a block of just over 1500sq m, which is a rarity in that location.

“Properties of that size just don’t very often come up in that location,” Ms Grice said.

“That area is very, very sought after. It’s in the inner-city and close to everything that matters, the schools, Queens Gardens, The Strand and you’re not far from the North Ward shops.”

Ms Grice said the market was very busy, particularly for inner-city locations like North Ward.

“I think people are realising that prices are moving up. We are seeing a lot of people living in southern areas who are looking at Townsville. They can come and live four or five minutes from the ocean.”

The Paxton St house as three bedrooms, good sized separate living and dining rooms flowing on to a covered outdoor entertainment area, multipurpose area with office,

study and separate living area, underground wine cellar, shed and dual driveways.

The house will go to auction on site from 11am, October 9.
