SLEEPY TOWN TO CRIME SCENE

-

Alva Beach is the last place you’d expect a double stabbing to happen.

The small, seaside town about an hour south of Townsville is best known for fishing, and access to the world renowned Yongala wreck dive site.

On weekends it’s a flurry of activity, with kite surfers enjoying the water and kids looking for crabs at low tide.

Less than 300 people live in the Burdekin town, but residents who live just 15 minutes away at Ayr often take the one road in and out for a beach fix.

It’s relaxed, quiet and no fuss, but the deaths of Tom Davy and Corey Christensen have overshadowed what the town is known for.

Most of the people who were at the party the night the men died still live in the tiny town, walking past each other often and exchanging hellos.

Mr Webber has also been back to the house where it happened, multiple times, and it’s understood his parents still own the property.
