1300 will die this year from melanoma
Australia has the highest melanoma rate in the world. It is expected 16,000 people will be diagnosed with it this year.
It is the most deadly form of skin cancer and it’s estimated 1300 people will die from it in Australia this year.
Terri’s mission now is to encourage others to get their skin checked regularly, and she and the North West Health Service are spearheading the campaign to push #skincheckforterri.
The hashtag aims to raise awareness of Terri’s story and the Melanoma Institute of Australia’s goal to reach zero deaths from it this decade.
So it is time to get your skin checked, and when you do, post a photo on social media and tag it with #skincheckforterri and give the Mount Isa mum her dying wish.
