SCALES LEAD TO COURT

-

MARISSA Anne Luby pleaded guilty to one charge of possess property suspected of having been used with the commission of a drug offence in Townsville Magistrates Court.

Luby’s home was searched on September 22, where scales covered with a “white powder” residue were found by officers.

Her lawyer told magistrate Ross Mack last Wednesday that Luby suffered from PTSD and bipolar disorder, and she was seeing a psychiatrist to address her drug use.

Mr Mack said Luby currently owed $8000 in SPER, debts, and noted she had not made a payment since 2015.

He asked Luby how someone on a government payment could afford to use ice every day.

Mr Mack told Luby the community wanted to “see her do well”, before fining her $500.
