Police blitz on Maggie Is drivers

POLICE have cracked down on drink and drug drivers flouting the laws on Magnetic Island.

In a matter of weeks, four people have been charged with alcohol or drug driving related offences.

On August 31, a 41-year-old Nelly Bay woman crashed a car on the island, and has since been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle. She will face court later this month.

On September 3, a 20-yearold tourist was charged with drink driving in Nelly Bay. He will face court on Wednesday.

On September 5, a 25-yearold Horseshoe Bay woman was charged with drink driving in Picnic Bay. She will face court on Wednesday.

On September 29, a 47year-old Nelly Bay man was charged with drug driving in Nelly Bay. He will face court later this month.
