Frontline heroes to be hailed

- LEIGHTON SMITH

MANY of Queensland’s frontline workers will gather in The Ville on Thursday to receive recognition for their hard work and exceptional service at the 2021 QBANK Everyday Heroes Awards ceremony.

With individuals and groups nominated by their peers and members of the community, the awards ceremony will bring together unsung community heroes from police, fire and emergency, ambulance and health sectors across Queensland.

From the years that have brought a global pandemic, floods, fires, extreme weather and many testing times for the community, the 2021 finalists and winners of the awards will recognise the extraordinary efforts of those who have continued to protect, serve and heal our communities.

The ceremony will share the stories of the finalists across the six award categories – Ownership, Dedication, Working Together, Excellence and Young Everyday Hero – and celebrate the winners who will each receive $1000 cash and $1000 donated to their charity of choice. The Young Everyday Hero will receive a $500 bursary to assist with training and development.
