Suli’s emotional nod to Manly

- MATT LOGUE

ST GEORGE Illawarrabound centre Moses Suli has thanked Manly for saving his career before declaring the Dragons are “going places”.

Suli officially joined the Dragons on a three-year deal on Wednesday after gaining a release from his final season at the Sea Eagles.

The explosive 23-year-old

the first addition to the

Dragons’ backline for the 2022 season.

Suli joined Manly in 2018 after having his contract torn up twice in one year by Wests Tigers and Canterbury following repeated indiscretions.

The Tongan international resurrected his career at the Sea Eagles under coach Des Hasler, scoring 12 tries in his 63 games for the club.

But with Manly preferring Brad Parker and Morgan

Harper in the centres, the enigmatic outside back opted to move on.

Suli, though, will never forget how the Sea Eagles came to his rescue when his career was on the rocks.

“To the club who picked me up when I was down,” Suli said via Twitter.

“To my Manly mates and brothers, thank you for everything and for welcoming me to the club with open arms.”
