Grey claimed the throne of England and Ireland on July 10, 1553. Her reign lasted a total of nine days. She had been named as the heir to her cousin Edward VI, England’s first Protestant monarch, but the Privy Council changed its mind and proclaimed Edward’s halfsister Mary as Queen.
1769 HORACE H. HAYDEN American dentist
Hayden was the first licensed dentist in America when he was issued with a licence in 1810. He was a co-founder of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, the world’s first dental school.
1925 MARGARET THATCHER British Prime Minister
Thatcher was prime minister from 1979 until 1990. She was the first woman to hold the office and the longest-serving British PM of the 20th century. Victory in the 1982 Falklands War led to a surge in support, but she remained a polarising figure until her death in 2013.
1934 NANA MOUSKOURI Greek singer
Mouskouri released more than 200 albums in 12 languages during her career. She represented Luxembourg at the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest. In 1993, Mouskouri was elected to the European Parliament as a Greek deputy.

Snow was a formidable fast bowler and took 202 wickets in a Test career spanning 49 matches. He bowled England to victory against the West Indies in 1967–68 and Australia in 1970–71. His best bowling figures were 7/40.
