RURAL, REMOTE VACCINES

MORE than 7500 rural and remote Queensland­ers have now received their Covid-19 vaccinatio­n through the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) health care staff.

Since March, RFDS crews from Cairns, Charlevill­e and Mount Isa have supported the delivery of Covid-19 vaccines to more than 40 remote communitie­s.

CEO Meredith Staib said the RFDS was pleased to hep administer the vaccine to rural and remote Queensland­ers.

“For example, our staff have supported Queensland Health teams in providing mass vaccinatio­n clinics in Cape York communitie­s such as Kowanyama, Pormpuraaw, Coen and Lockhart,” she said.
