Psychic Jackie Gillies tells Siobhan Duck what she really thinks about her Real Housewivesofmelbourne castmates
JACKIE Gillies has swapped champagne magnums at swanky soirees for baby bottles and late-night feeds as the fifth season of The Real Housewives Ofmelbourne kicks off – and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Because after a long battle with infertility and many rounds of IVF, the reality star discovered she was expecting twins while filming the much-anticipated return of the Foxtel series. While she felt exhausted and was suffering crippling back pain, being pregnant while filming had its advantages.
“One hundred per cent, nobody’s going for the pregnant lady! Nobody is coming for me this season,” she says with a laugh.
“I think they all knew that if you go after a pregnant lady, you’re just going to get trolled.”
While the other women laid off Gillies, the hotheaded, forthright and unfiltered star didn’t afford them the same luxury.
“This whole pregnancy has been topsy-turvy, man,” she says.
“Like, one day you’re great.
The next you’re crying, then frustrated, then extra angry. So there’s definitely been a couple of explosive moments from me this season.”
A professional psychic, Gillies was quick to pick up “vibes” about her four new castmates. And after filming with them, she found her instincts were spot-on.
Before the show’s long-awaited launch, Gillies shed some light on what to expect from each of the ladies this year.
JANET ROACH
This property developer turned therapeutic-tea entrepreneur is a mother to two adult sons. Jackie’s vibe: “Expect a lot of drama. A lot of joy, a lot of being straightforward about her opinions, but also a lot of relatability.”
KYLA KIRKPATRICK
Known as the “champagne dame”, this bubbly and outspoken alcohol importer shares an eight-year-old daughter with her fiancé Kyriacos Christodoulou.
Jackie’s vibe: “She also brings drama, and it will be interesting to see how that evolves. She’s a lot of fun and has a lot of sass.”
GAMBLE BREAUX
A singer and Pomeranian breeder who is happily married to eye surgeon Rick Wolfe.
Jackie’s vibe: “She’s going to make you laugh with the stuff that comes out of her mouth.”
SIMONE ELLIOTT
The corporate high-flyer is studying for her MBA and is a mum to two kids.
Jackie’s vibe: “She brings wit and cultured thoughts on life.
She also brings a lot of honesty about what she’s gone through.”
CHERRY DIPIETRANTONIO
This yoga instructor is a happily married mother of three who originally hails from the UK.
Jackie’s vibe: “She’s an Earth angel. She’s very into health and wellness, and the flexibility of that chick is out of this world, man.”
ANJALI RAO
The former CNN breakfast news host moved to Australia eight years ago with her only son.
Jackie’s vibe: “Some of the things that come out of her mouth – unless you know her personality – they could sound shady.”
