EASY WAY TO COUNTER LOCKDOWN THREAT

-

IF people in North Queensland didn’t have a good reason to go and get vaccinated before, they might now. Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk got real on Monday, laying out for the first time a timeline to reopen the state.

She announced border restrictions will ease as early as November 19, with the fully-vaccinated able to cross the border unrestricted come December 17 – just in time for Christmas.

And while the move is good news for those wanting to visit family and friends interstate, it might cause some issues for the unvaccinated in the regions.

Because regional Queensland is dragging the vaccination chain, the Premier threatened to lockdown regions with low numbers in the event of an outbreak.

That’s of special concern because with the borders open an influx of Covid-19 positive people is on the cards.

Another issue for the unvaccinated is that they may not be able to enjoy the same freedoms they do now when the borders come down.
