Forum looking at future ag projects
THE lid will be lifted on a number of private agricultural ventures leading the way for the industry in the North at a forum in Townsville next month.
The Unlocked Agforce Futures Forum is drawing together a host of industry experts whose “think big” projects are delivering results.
Agforce Northern Region spokesman Matt Bennetto said the forum was aimed at showcasing what inspiring projects were happening in the state.
“There seems to be so
many things going on n in different places that t are great privately y funded projects,” he e said.
“We wanted to o bring together people e not just from the cattle e industry, but cane, grain and a cross section of agricultural sectors to talk about some of those projects.”
Among the guest speakers are Blair and Josie Angus (pictured) from Signature Beef near Clermont.
Signature Beef is the culmination of four generations of the Angus family’s dedication to produce the world’s best beef.
Their family-owned beef brand is exported internationally from the North
Queensland abattoir.
Mr Bennetto said the Angus family was an example of a project that people wanted to know more about.
“There are significant projects that a lot of people haven’t even heard about,” he said.
“We want to give people the chance to hear about them and to leave plenty of time for questions and discussions at the forum.”
Entry to the forum, which would be held at The Ville Resort-casino, Townsville, on November 4, is free.
People wishing to attend need to register at Eventbrite by October 28.
Mr Bennetto said it was hoped there would also be government and industry representatives in attendance to hear from the guest speakers, which include James Duddy from Dooruna, Clay Kenny from LPC Agriculture Llanarth Station, Shane McCarthy from the Hughenden Irrigation Project, Jannik Olejas from Mackay Sugar James Henderson from AgCare and more.
