Fire on the front foot
THE Townsville Fire has shot a three-pointer when it comes to Covid-19 vaccination with every player, coach and administration staff having received their double dose in time for the WNBL season.
The WNBL remains adamant there will be no double dose mandate for the league this season.
Bendigo Spirit and Canadian import Katherine Plouff “mutually agreed to part ways” last week due to the Canadian’s decision to remain unvaccinated.
Professional sportspeople are on the authorised worker list to enter the country but have to be double-dose vaccinated to do so. While being unable to gain a visa will prevent imports joining the league unvaccinated, the WNBL will not ban domestic players who refuse to have a jab.
