Teenager killed in FNQ fall
A TEENAGER has died at a tourist hotspot in Far North Queensland.
The young woman, from Manunda in Cairns, is believed to have fallen from Isabella Falls – located south of Port Douglas – at 3pm on Monday.
Paramedics said the woman, who was with other people at the time of the incident, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
They the death is not being treated as suspicious.
The waterfall is known to be a haven for Instagram influencers who rush to the hidden gem to take photos.
Cairns MP Michael Healy posted a message to the woman’s family on Tuesday.
“Sadly, a young person from Manunda (Cairns) has lost her life after an accident in Isabella Falls yesterday (Monday),” he wrote.
“I offer my deepest sympathies to the young woman’s family and friends who are processing this tragic news and grieving today.”
