Leopold was Holy Roman Emperor, King of Hungary and Bohemia, and Archduke of Austria from 1790 until 1792. He was Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1965 to 1790 and abolished capital punishment in Tuscany during his rule, the first modern nation to do so.
