Dogs eye healthy English patient
WESTERN Bulldogs could receive ruck reinforcements with big man Tim English a chance to return early from injury for Friday night’s clash against Port Adelaide.
The Bulldogs will wait to see how English pulls up from Wednesday’s main training session before making a final call on his availability for the match at the Adelaide Oval.
English has missed the past two games after suffering a hamstring injury at training.
Initially described as a “low-grade” hamstring injury, English was originally expected to be sidelined for two-tothree games.
Bulldogs teammate Bailey Dale said English had been training strongly and hoped the team could welcome him back against the Power.
“Tim is going well, hopefully he can potentially get up this week, we’re not too sure yet,” Dale said. “Obviously hamstrings can cause a bit of an issue if you go a bit early.
“Tim’s training really well so hopefully he can get back out there this week.”
Bulldogs key defender Alex Keath, sidelined since Round 3, is also pushing for a return from a hamstring injury.
Mitch Wallis also remains a chance to play this week.
