Sharks do it with 12

- EAMONN TIERNAN

CRONULLA has pulled off one of the most famous regular-season victories in its history.

The Sharks became the first team since 2008 to win with 12 men and they did it easily, beating the Warriors 29-10 on Sunday night.

The Sharks even went down to 11 men in the second half but it mattered little against a hapless Warriors outfit.

William Kennedy was sent off for a coathanger tackle in the 17th minute and Jesse Ramien was binned in the 54th minute, also for a high shot.

The Warriors didn’t score a point or make a linebreak in the second stanza despite their man advantage.

Kennedy’s swinging arm collected Warriors young gun Reece Walsh (pictured), who got up immediately, but referee Todd Smith had no choice.

The Warriors scored twice in the first five minutes Kennedy was off the field but it was all the Sharks after those tries.

Cronulla halfback Nicho Hynes was superb, while winger Connor Tracey bagged a double.

The last team to win with 12 men was Manly against Canberra in 2008.
