Charters Towers council CEO quits
A REGIONAL council’s chief executive officer has tendered his resignation after almost four and a half years in the role.
Charters Towers Regional Council yesterday revealed that Aaron Johansson would be leaving the organisation.
The move was formalised at a special council meeting on Monday.
Mayor Frank Beveridge thanked Mr Johansson for his time at the council.
“Aaron has led the organisation to deliver a number of key strategic projects set by council and implemented a range of positive changes to management during his time,” Mr Beveridge said.
The council’s director infrastructure services, John Teague, was appointed the acting CEO at the meeting on Monday.
“John has held the position of acting CEO on a number of occasions and will continue to ensure all operations run smoothly until the appointment of an Interim CEO,” Mr Beveridge said.
Mr Johansson thanked the elected members of the council whom he had worked with.
“Together with all employees both past and present, thank you for your contributions in positively transforming our organisation into what it is today,” he said.
