Visit aged care expo

A FIRST of its kind aged care expo is being held in Townsville to prepare families for their parents’ golden years.

The Community Information Centre Townsville is holding the event on May 21, with more than 50 service providers available to answer questions and provide information on the next step in life.

General manager Teresa Hudson said it was always a good time to start thinking ahead. “A common misconception we hear is that aged care is something you only need to think about when you need it,” Ms Hudson said.

“The truth is that the system is complex and can be expensive, so it’s best to start planning as soon as possible.”
