The sporting world will never be the same. On Saturday night Australia lost one of its favourite sons when Andrew Symonds was killed in a car crash on Hervey Range Rd.

Despite efforts to save him by first responders, he died from his injuries at the scene.

He was 46.

Roy was a supreme athlete and a one-of-a-kind character, but most precious of all, he was your mate and a great one at that.

He made the local community a better place.

Those who were close to him will never forget just how privileged they were to have him in their lives.
