Deputy CEO appointed to top job at Master Builders Queensland
PAUL Bidwell will step up as CEO of Master Builders Queensland after more than 12 years with the association, including eight as deputy CEO.
Master Builders announced his appointment on Tuesday.
Since joining Master Builders, Mr Bidwell has been instrumental in leading the association’s policy and advocacy, as well as supporting the board through a decade of transformation and change. He has spearheaded numerous lobbying and advocacy campaigns, improving building industry policy and maintaining Master Builders’ role as the industry’s peak body.
Master Builders president Ralf Dutton said the board was delighted to appoint someone of Mr Bidwell’s calibre and industry experience.
“Paul certainly has his finger on the pulse when it comes to our membership base. It’s this intimate understanding of what our members need and how the industry works that has seen him be responsible for some of our biggest lobbying and advocacy successes, as well as ensuring our policies and recommendations are directly reflective of members’ needs,” Mr Dutton said.
“Paul’s efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic were instrumental in achieving relief and stimulus for the industry and he has been a voice and passionate advocate in recent times as the industry was hit with the perfect storm of cost hikes and labour and material shortages.”
Mr Dutton said Mr Bidwell would continue to be the face of the industry in the media and in his role as a key influencer, working with the Queensland government.
Mr Bidwell joined Master Builders in July 2009 with 18 years’ private and public sector experience in policy planning and analysis
He previously worked with the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland.
