MAKING MONEY OUT OF CLIMATE FEAR

-

With the election upon us I question the promises and spending made by Labor, the Greens and so-called independents have thrown out to obtain votes.

What is the cost to us Australians? Just like in the last election, only one reporter had the guts to ask Labor leader Bill Shorten the cost of Labor’s’ climate change policies. The press should be asking the question on behalf of the voters. We never question how Labor are promising to fix the Great Barrier Reef. How is this money going to fix the bleaching reef? Is the money going to put a large shade cloth over the reef so it won’t bleach or are we going to fund universities and professors to study the reef?

Apparently, there is another bleaching, and this is reported all over the world, so much for our tourist industry.

This is a very small part of the reef, yet it is reported as a major event.

If the TB 7/5 reporting can be believed, they reported ‘Lost Coral found by scientist’. Apparently the lost species of coral had been lost for 50 years in Indo-pacific region, yet it was found hiding here north of the Tropic of Capricorn as a new species – is this nature adapting slowly to survive like Australia?

It was recently reported deforestation in Brazilian Amazon last month shattered the record, more than 1012sq km in April from 1st to 29th. This is the biggest since recording commenced in 2015.

The climate change candidates ignore this and continue with their hate and destruction of Australia ‘s economy, claiming we can save the world from global warming. Where is the big money in Australia invested and who has invested in renewables, and who is set to gain with the election of the so-called climate change independents and Labor?

I fear for our future with the global warming agenda the billions of borrowed dollars spent on this cult of global warming craze, it will all have to paid for with the tax you pay or the energy bill you will not be able to afford, nothing comes without a high price.

GOOD OIL ON WHAT WE NEED

Many writers to the Bulletin have asked why, before an election, the lies, half-truths and promises of the major parties flow like the Burdekin in flood. The classic old poster of “Vote Labor to save Medicare” surfaced again.

Maybe I have holidayed on Mars, (like some billionaires), but I

have not seen the Liberal Party say they are going to destroy

Medicare.

Apart from being electoral suicide, our country cannot get rid of Medicare as we would end up like America, “have the money or die”.

A new one has surfaced this election, and with so few days left for our country to vote, I think this is worth mentioning.

The Liberal Party has now come out and said they are the wonder builders of Hells Gate Dam, oh yes, “they will do it”, they say.

Yet, we know that the only way this dam will get built is if Bob Katter holds the deciding vote in the lower house after this election.

This generational project has the mass potential of giving us clean power, abundant water, food production and tourism. Hated by the Greens, even though the Hells Gate dam can supply not only Hydro power but bio mass energy produced from algae. No one can deny the potential of algae any more. Unlike traditional crops grown from other oil seed, algae can produce anywhere from 4545 litres to 22,730 litres of oil per 0.4ha. The existing technology will allow us to convert this algae oil and we can use non-productive land to do it. The Greens don’t want any dams, and apart from the fact our population needs water, why don’t they support Hells Gate Dam? Why don’t Labor just come out and say they will build it, why don’t the Liberal Party just come clean and say that they will unconditionally build this generational project in the north?

Greens, please don’t say that recycling sea water is viable, when you can harness the fresh stuff before you pay millions of dollars to get the salt out.

The voters at pre-poll and the ones who will vote on Saturday need more than the fight, the falseness, the tired slogans and the stupid questions.

We need, as a country, the real deal, the politicians who will stand and be leaders, (without fear of being called a bully).

A good leader can be called a bully by standing up for what is right and demanding that policy and government deliver generational projects that will serve our economy and people into the next century. Not be swayed by some idiot social media, moronic rant or ideologic pea-brained homo sapien. We cannot expect the Labor/liberal/green system to deliver us anything new. Look at the last 20 years, has it delivered anything new?

How’s this for a spectacular fail? Labor – which champions health as one of its key political advantages over the LNP – has left the Townsville Hospital without free beds this week and patients again left in ambulances. This is all under Labor’s watch. BARNEY, BELGIAN GARDENS

DAN CRANBROOK, Albo hasn’t agreed to give people a 5.1% pay rise, he wants to but it has to go to the Fair Trade Commission and they could knock it back to 1% or even nothing. Don’t get your hopes up because at this stage he doesn’t even know how he’s going to pay for all his promises. Jan, 4815

Funny story in yesterday’s Bully telling us how Labor wants to win Herbert. If that’s the case they should have selected a candidate that can string a few words together. But that probably doesn’t matter as the party prefers members that say & do nothing just like our 3 inept state members. Maurice, Annandale

The Olympic Games are more likely to be more important than the Qld Health catastrophe. Wake up Queensland no vote Labor. qgz, 4810

“Not my job”, “don’t hold a hose” media likes to echo about Morrison.

Even a preschooler will tell you that’s a firefighter’s job. Abbott “held a hose” and did so much more and yet he was endlessly ridiculed by media. Pity the media did not do their job and research facts and report them in an unbiased way. LEJ, 4814

You’re going to get what majority vote for, so don’t throw us a LEMON. Cris, Wulguru.

Another fatality on our roads but, not only the horror and heartbreak, a long delay for motorists because of these roads. During this election we are promised that the Bruce Highway will be 4 lanes with support from the state government. Why then, as we see roadworks and bridges being works in progress, only 2 lanes? Where is the thought for the future

of this state? Promises are only words in the wind. M J Reynolds, Mt Louisa

I have no problems with Shari’s leftwing column. I just don’t read the waste of space. Time for the Bully to get a middle-of-the-road reporter. CJ, Pallarenda

Good question, Steve, Collinsville. Globally, human activity emits roughly 60 times more CO2 than volcanic activity. Some major eruptions match our emissions for a few hours, but these are quite rare. Thus, volcanoes don’t really come into the climate change conversation much. CF, North Ward

Just saw a Youtube clip where the Dutch built an underpass on a doublelane highway in a weekend. Townsville Council hasn’t been able to top coat a 100m stretch of Crete St in Aitkenvale in over 7 weeks. I used to vote Labor. Jim, 4817

A number of readers have been criticising Joe Biden as being weak, a “Leftie”. After watching 4Corners on Monday night, it is obvious that the war results in Ukraine would be far different if “Boof head” Trump was still President, as he couldn’t upset “his friend Mr Putin”. Warren, 4814

?? ?? With the way fuel prices are, I’m getting pretty good with the trigger on the pumps, and making sure I don’t get distracted and accidentally put another fifty dollars in the damn car by holding it on for an extra two seconds!
