Industry gurus head to forum

THE official program has been released for the inaugural Farming in Focus Forum, to be held at the Ayr Showground­s on Friday, May 27.

The forum, which is part of Townsville Enterprise’s Secure the Future event series, will feature presentati­ons from key industry profession­als as well as updates from state and federal agencies.

Burdekin Council Mayor Lyn Mclaughlin said the event would be of benefit to everyone who was involved in the North Queensland agricultur­al sector.

“Council looks forward to hosting the 2022 Farming in Focus Forum, proudly supported by QSL and Townsville Enterprise, which will feature a range of topics presented by industry specialist­s,” Ms Mclaughlin said.

“Guests will hear about the future of the sugar industry from QSL, supporting agricultur­e in the region from Townsville Enterprise, a snapshot of trade in North Queensland from the Port of Townsville, using sugarcane to produce biochemica­ls from Burdekin Renewable Fuels, and more.”
