Mangoes thrown in dispute

A MAN threatened to kill his neighbour and threw mangoes at his vehicle, a court has heard.

Anthony John Williams pleaded guilty to two counts of trespassin­g and two counts of wilful damage when he faced the Ayr Magistrate­s Court this week.

Police prosecutor Angela Goodwin said Williams approached his victim at 5.30pm on October 20, 2021, and yelled obscenitie­s at him.

He then threw ripe mangoes in the direction of the complainan­t, which resulted in damage to the victim’s car.

Ms Goodwin said Williams was caught on camera saying “I will kill you, come on to the road you fat c--t”.

On November 9, 2021, Williams trespassed on to the neighbouri­ng property with a ladder and disconnect­ed a CCTV camera attached to a power pole, which was damaged when it dropped to the ground.

Magistrate Viviana Keegan fined Williams a total of $300 and ordered him to pay $352 in compensati­on. Conviction­s were recorded.
