Health boost for women
A physiotherapy practice providing specialist services in women’s health is among the entrants to a neighbourhood shopping centre being refreshed under new ownership in Townsville.
Wholesome Physiotherapy is the venture of Townsville physiotherapist Corinne Letizia.
Ms Letizia is a James Cook University graduate who has honed her skills working both here and in London and gained advanced practitioner training in women’s health in Sydney.
Ms Letizia said the practice was a new business venture for herself providing Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy as well as the specialist women’s health services.
She has leased premises in the Bayside centre in Primrose St, Belgian Gardens.
“I’m quite passionate about education for women and their health issues, making sure they make informed decisions about their health,” Ms Letizia said.
She said working in the
Mater Hospital and in private practice, both here and in London, including as a clinical lead physiotherapist, had given her insights into running a business.
Ms Letizia said the location of her premises in Belgian Gardens, close to schools and the demographic she wanted to attract, was well suited to her business, while the centre’s access and carparking was good for clients.
Also, the premises providing space for two consulting rooms allowed for some growth and was reasonably priced.
The shopping centre was
sold to a local investor earlier this year for $1.36m through Colliers Townsville which is also negotiating leasing for the property.
Colliers executive Ben Wheeler said Wholesome Physiotherapy was one of several new tenants.
A yoga studio is planned for one tenancy and discussions are under way with another potential client.
Mr Wheeler said the centre owner was renovating tenancies and would refresh the outside of the property.
“The centre is really starting to turnaround. We are starting to fill the tenancies,” he said/
