Not all surf pho­tog­ra­phers are as cool about giv­ing away their hard-earned se­crets. Some fig­ure it took them years to learn the right set­tings and po­si­tion­ing so why give a new guy a head start. It’s be­come a pop­u­lar field for hob­by­ists and semi-pro shoot­ers while the av­enues for mak­ing coin are shrink­ing. Ord doesn’t mind shar­ing his knowl­edge and en­cour­ag­ing the next gen­er­a­tion. “I don’t see it like that be­cause if peo­ple go to work­shops they get in­spired for a week or so. The one per cent that are go­ing to take it and go all the way will do it any­way. They will be­come your com­peti­tors any­way with­out your help. So you help them out and you never know they may be able to help you in the fu­ture.”
