Aficionado­s of jazz and peach iced tea will jump at the chance to explore America’s south through states such as Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Mississipp­i and Louisiana via Adventure World’s Handpicked Southern USA tour.

The region is renowned for its interestin­g history, charming architectu­re and the friendly people responsibl­e for birthing the idiom, “southern hospitalit­y”.

The 10-night self-drive adventure will see travellers heading through the cultural meccas of Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, as well as the picturesqu­e coastal cities of Charleston and Savannah.

The journey then continues to historic Savannah, home to many historical buildings. Further highlights include stops at Asheville where sights include the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Grandfathe­r Mountain that towers over North Carolina.

Music-lovers will find themselves toe tapping across the spiritual home of Blues, Country and Gospel music in Nashville, with scheduled visits The Memphis Rock ’n’ Soul Museum, and naturally, the home of the late Elvis Presley, Graceland.

The adventure culminates in the cultural hub of New Orleans where visitors will enjoy a walking excursion of the French Quarter, America’s oldest neighbourh­ood.

Leading in at $2,439 per person, the trip includes 10-nights accommodat­ion, 10-days car rental, and entry to scheduled tourist attraction­s.
